Registered Nurse (RN) Opportunity
Location:
The Meadows Psychiatric Center, 52-acre rural campus, minutes outside State College, Central PA. The facility is a 119-bed inpatient behavioral health center with outpatient programs.
Position Type:
Full-Time (Part‑time & PRN available with limited benefits).
Shift: 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, every other weekend rotation.
Responsibilities- The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for all patients on the Child, Adolescent, Stabilization and Adult Units.
- Prescribes, coordinates, and delegates nursing care and oversees unit activities for each shift.
- Completes nursing assessments and documents care and progress of the patient each shift.
- Completes the Columbia Suicide Assessment on all new admissions and when a patient’s suicide risk level changes.
- Facilitates medication administration activities in accordance with safe medication practices, including patient education.
- Responds to all crisis/emergency events to direct staff and ensure patient safety.
- Attends Treatment Team meetings to aid in the development of patient care plans.
- Oversees Mental Health Technicians and Licensed Practical Nurses working on the unit.

- Valid Pennsylvania Registered Nursing License or Temporary Permit to Practice.
- Genuine interest in psychiatric nursing.
- Previous psychiatric nursing experience preferred, but not required; on‑the‑job training provided.
