Perform the UPMC nursing core responsibilities for nursing assistants: blood glucose, weights, vital signs, I&O, specimen collections and Foley care;
Provide feedback to the RN regarding patient care and report changes in patient status;
May apply, monitor and remove patient restraints per physician or hospital protocol;
Demonstrate effective communication with health care team and understanding of cultural diversity;
Assist with activities of daily living and patient safety, including safety checks and maintaining clean/organized environments
