UPMC Supportive Care and Palliative Medicine is seeking a compassionate, team-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to support patients with complex healthcare needs while working alongside a dedicated interdisciplinary team focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

This newly created position will help support the continued growth of the practice and our expanding provider team. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, organized, and passionate about providing exceptional care and support to patients and families.

• Travel required between various Supportive Care and Palliative Medicine locations throughout Central Pennsylvania

Purpose: Provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.

Responsibilities:

• Draw blood.
• Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
• Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
• Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
• Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
• Comply with all policies and procedures.
• Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
• Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
• Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
• Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.

• Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
• One year clinical experience preferred.
• Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Act 34

* Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
