PurposeThe EMI Operator performs Magnetic Flux Leakage Test on pipes, deciding their approval or rejection, in a safe and efficient manner according to applicable procedures, complying with defined quality standards. The Prove‑Up Inspector is responsible for performing nondestructive testing (NDT) verification and reinspection of seamless pipes to confirm the presence, nature, and severity of defects identified during EMI. This role ensures all testing and verification activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in strict compliance with Tenaris Work Instructions and Procedures, while complying with Tenaris quality standards.
MainActivities
- Hold and maintain valid MFL Level II, UT Level II, and MPI Level 1 NDT certifications (certifications must be presented).
- Perform equipment setup, product changeovers, and verification activities in accordance with approved Work Instructions and Procedures.
- Verify the integrity, calibration status, and readiness of all testing equipment prior to inspection.
- Conduct calibration and verification of the Prove‑Up system to ensure testing accuracy and repeatability.
- Inspect and verify Reference Standard Pipes (RSPs) for compliance with internal and customer quality requirements.
- Operate the Prove‑Up inspection equipment safely and efficiently during testing and verification processes.
- Collaborate closely with EMI Operators to evaluate defect sensitivity, confirm defect type, and provide feedback on equipment performance.
- Review Manufacturing Orders and inspection documentation to confirm applicable standards and testing specifications.
- Accurately complete quality reports (digital and/or paper‑based), including calibration results, inspection data, and equipment performance logs.
- Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), preventive maintenance (PM Day), and routine daily maintenance (e.g., head cleaning, connector maintenance, RSP verification).
- Record all inspection and calibration data accurately in the digital tracking system to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Support rework preparation activities and assist in defect verification or disposition as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, supporting Finishing Line housekeeping standards.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Current UT Level II and MPI Level I certifications (required).

- Excellent observation and analytical skills for interpreting defect data.

- Dependable, organized, and committed to maintaining quality, safety, and operational discipline.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
