The Scientist I supports environmental projects through fieldwork, sampling, data collection, research, and technical documentation. This entry‑level position is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their environmental consulting experience while working alongside experienced scientists, engineers, and project managers.

The Scientist I will gain hands‑on experience with environmental investigations, regulatory compliance, permitting, and project delivery while contributing to projects that support our clients and communities.

• Assist with collecting water, soil, and waste samples and conducting environmental field investigations.
• Document field observations, including well drilling activities, soil profiles, and site conditions.
• Conduct research and assist with reviewing and analyzing laboratory and field data.
• Assist with preparing technical reports, specifications, permit applications, and other project documentation.
• Maintain accurate project records, correspondence, field notes, and files.
• Support project managers, scientists, and engineers with environmental project activities.
• Participate in client meetings and regulatory agency coordination as needed.
• Assist with maintaining strong client relationships and meeting project schedules and budgets.
• Any other duties, as necessary, to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and uphold the values of the organization.

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related scientific field.
• Basic knowledge of scientific principles, environmental sampling, and data collection.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a project team.
• Ability and willingness to perform environmental fieldwork.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

• Ability to work in both office and field environments.
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
• Ability to wear required PPE and perform physical activities associated with environmental fieldwork.

This position may be based out of any ARRO Consulting office
, with regular travel to project sites as needed. The role includes a combination of office‑based and field work based on project needs.

This is a full‑time position, generally working Monday through Friday.
