HVAC Refrigeration Maintenance Mechanic - South Mountain Restoration Center

This position focuses on maintaining and repairing refrigeration, HVAC, and related equipment to ensure safe and comfortable conditions throughout the Center. It supports reliable facility operations and contributes to resident well‑being. As an HVAC Refrigeration Maintenance Mechanic, you will perform the following duties:

• Equipment Checks: Inspect temperatures, maintain refrigerators, freezers, coolers, ice machines, and walk‑in boxes
• System Installation: Install new refrigeration and HVAC equipment when needed
• Heating Repair: Make adjustments and repairs to steam, hot water, and gas heating systems
• Refrigerant Work: Operate recovery and recycling equipment and follow EPA regulations when handling refrigerants
• Maintenance Tasks: Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, and parts replacement for related machinery
• Inventory Management: Order supplies and maintain proper stock for repair operations

• Full‑time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

• Two years of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems, units, and equipment; or
• Completion of a three‑year Vo-Tech training program in refrigeration, HVAC, or building automation and six months experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems, related digitally controlled equipment, or BA systems; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration equipment.

• You must obtain EPA Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification from an approved provider within 6 months of employment.
• This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
