Mental Health Counselor

Provide support to the Student Assistant Services Department. The Owen J. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct drug and alcohol assessments and make recommendations
• Provide guidance information and resources
• Make referrals to appropriate community resources in accordance with school district guidelines
• Coordinate and implement group guidance programs, including anger management, grief, COA, changing families, anxiety, social skills, stress management, peer relations, and other topics as deemed necessary
• Respond to crisis situations when appropriate
• Collaborate with and support the Student Assistant Services Department

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in related field required. Master's Degree and/or License in related field preferred. Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop good relationships with students, peers, parents and community. Well organized with good time management skills. Ability to express self clearly and concisely in oral and written communications; and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups. Computer literate and competent with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.

Submission of PA School Personnel Health form. Current Act 34, Act 151 and Act 114 clearances.
