Position Summary
A Universal Banker is a versatile and customer-focused banking professional who plays a crucial role in providing a wide range of financial services to bank customers. You will be responsible for building customer relationships by recognizing opportunities and making referrals, processing a variety of customer transactions, and balancing those transactions at the end of the day. Knowledgeable of all Bank products and services in order to maximize account relationships with new and existing customers.
Counsel bank customers and prospects to sell and cross sell bank offerings to meet their needs. You may oversee a portfolio of customers depending on branch needs. As a Universal Banker, your role will encompass and expand upon the responsibilities of a Teller.
The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with rotating Saturdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The position is based at our Harrisburg Branch and also provides service at the Prince of Peace and Westport retirement communities for part of the day on select weekdays. Sales & Service
- Execute the Sales and Service program of the department when working with customers.
- Provide exceptional customer service by actively engaging with customers, addressing their inquiries, and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Perform various banking transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Effectively manage cash handling responsibilities including balancing cash drawers and vaults, to maintain accuracy and security.
- Assist customers in opening, closing, and maintaining various types of accounts, such as savings, checking, certificates of deposits (CDs), and retirement accounts.
- Act as a financial advisor in identifying customer needs and recommending appropriate banking products and services, such as loans, credit cards, and investment options or referring the customer to other departments.
- Promote and cross-sell banking products and services to meet sales targets and enhance the overall customer relationship.
- Handle customer complaints and issues effectively, escalating them to department supervisor or other bank teammates as appropriate.
