Nielson is looking for a skilled mechanic to join our shop team! The Mechanic will work with the Lead Mechanic to complete all maintenance and repairs of our fleet vehicles and equipment. This includes on-/off-road trucks, trailers, excavators, paving equipment, small engines, and more.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on various trucks trailers, and equipment. Troubleshoot to resolve problems as they occur and try to do as much in-house maintenance as possible.
  • Assist with parts and maintenance supplies for fleet and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and complete maintenance paperwork on all vehicles
  • Assist with inventory of the shop, including ordering parts and materials if needed.
  • Assist employees with proper maintenance practices of all equipment
  • Promote job site safety, encourages safe work practices, and rectify job site hazards immediately.
  • Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and other employees.
  • Maintain an organized and clean shop.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of diesel, automotive, trucks, and equipment is required.
  • A valid driver license is required.
  • Must be able to work well with others, be dependable, attentive to detail, and produce high quality work.
  • Relevant degrees are preferred but not required.
