Job 1:
Medical Assistant III Responsibilities
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and enter data into medical records under direct supervision.
  • Measure and record vital signs; collect demographics and medical information, including a review of medication lists.
  • Prepare patients for examination, clean rooms and equipment, and restock supplies.
  • Administer medications as ordered by a physician.
Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Graduate of a formal MA training program that included pharmacology, anatomy/physiology, basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship.
Experience
  • None required.
  • Preferred:
    Previous direct contact with people.
  • Preferred:
    Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly an ambulatory clinic.
Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Capability to carry out delegated tasks under provider supervision.
  • Proficient computer skills.
Licensure / Certification / Registration
  • Certification or registration from a Cox Health approved program: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, or RMA/AAMP.
Job 2:
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Responsibilities
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and enter data into medical records.
  • Measure and record vital signs; collect demographics and medical information, including a review of medication lists.
  • Prepare patients for examination, clean rooms and equipment, and restock supplies.
  • Administer medications as ordered by a physician.
  • Perform specific competencies directed by the department.
Education
  • Graduate of a state board accredited practical nursing program.
Experience
  • Preferred:
    Previous nursing experience, particularly in an outpatient or ambulatory clinic setting.
Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Capability to carry out delegated tasks as directed by supervisors or under provider oversight.
  • Proficient computer skills.
Licensure / Certification / Registration
  • Current License:
    Practical Nurse or Graduate Practical Nurse active in the state of Arkansas.
  • Preferred: IV certification in the state of Arkansas.
