Shipping & Receiving Specialist - Harrison ArkansasJob Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Specialist is responsible for coordinating, preparing and processing outbound shipments and assuring inbound shipments are received, logged, and processed appropriately. This role works closely with all company personnel, carriers, customers, and suppliers to support operational goals by maintaining timely and accurate shipping and receiving processes.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and shipping paperwork.
- Prepare, package, label, and ship outgoing orders accurately and on schedule.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment.
- Organize and maintain warehouse storage areas for efficiency, cleanliness, and safety.
- Monitor shipping processes and report shortages, damaged goods, or discrepancies.
- Coordinate with purchasing, production, and supply chain teams regarding customer shipping priorities and needs.
- Ensure all shipping documentation, records, and tracking information are completed accurately.
- Operate warehouse management systems, ERP systems, and shipping software as required.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
- Support other warehouse and logistics functions as needed.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, or logistics experience preferred.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
- Basic computer skills and experience with inventory or ERP systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with shipping industry for LTL, truckload, and general freight and shipping practices.
- Knowledge of shipping, receiving and warehouse best practices.
- Ability to read shipping documents, packing slips, and bills of lading.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and machinery.
- Warehouse and manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, machinery, and shipping activity.
- Occasional overtime may be required based on workload and shipping schedules.
- Work schedule will follow Company shipping hours.
