Overview
Red Bull New York (RBNY) is part of Major League Soccer. The New York Red Bulls Regional Development Schools (RDS) are seeking an experienced goalkeeper coach to join the player development staff. The role focuses on delivering the RDS curriculum at supplementary clinics and camps, coaching the RDS Showcase Team goalkeepers, and supporting the Academy Foundation Phase teams (U10 to U12) as needed.
Responsibilities- Provide goalkeeper-specific supplementary training, focusing on technical, tactical, physical, and psychological development in line with the RDS Curriculum.
- Attend weekly RDS Team meetings to discuss pertinent player development issues.
- Assist with revision and evolution of goalkeeper-specific curriculum.
- Drive the RDS Showcase process by selecting teams, leading practices, and providing game-day coaching for tournaments and games.
- Provide support to Academy Foundation Phase teams, assisting head coaches with training sessions, game days, and seasonal tournaments as scheduling allows.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to ensure alignment with the broader development program.
- Available five (5) afternoons/evenings per week plus all weekends; up to two weekday mornings for staff training workshops and team meetings. Working hours approximately 18–30 hours per week, over a twelve-month period.
- Coaches on a full availability agreement may receive preferential assignments to double camp programs (up to 30 hours per week) and residential camps in summer, with priority for winter hours.
- Minimum guaranteed: 180 coaching hours in the spring and fall seasons, plus at least one 15-hour camp per week in the summer.
- Attend mandatory paid pre-season orientation event.
- USC National Goalkeeper Diploma preferred, but not essential.
- USC National Diploma / USSF C license preferred, but not essential.
- Minimum three years of coaching experience, with at least two years in the United States.
- Bachelor’s degree in a sports-related field preferred, but not essential.
- Valid driving license and own vehicle for transportation.
- Clean criminal record.
The base hourly range for this position is $38–$53, plus an hourly administrative rate of $16. Actual hourly offers may vary based on coaching qualifications. The base pay range is subject to change.
Additional InformationOccasional variation in assigned hours may occur to reflect business needs, including nights and weekends.
