Product Consultant (Laser & Automation) - Harrison, OH
Cincinnati Incorporated is seeking a technically strong, customer-focused Product Consultant to bridge the gap between Sales, Engineering, and the customer. The role involves providing expert guidance on machine capabilities, applications, and solutions to drive sales success and ensure maximum performance from equipment.
Position SummarySupport Marketing and Sales to meet or exceed company goals while ensuring orders align with company terms.
Responsibilities- Support Sales with accurate product and competitive information.
- Provide technical consultation to customers, analyzing applications and recommending machine configurations, options, and automation solutions.
- Strategize with Sales to maximize customer visits and calls.
- Ensure CI demonstration machines are in proper working order.
- Conduct on-site and remote technical demonstrations, including machine setup, operation, and software integration.
- Collaborate with customers to develop, test, and optimize machine programs for specific applications.
- Assist engineering and application teams in development and optimization projects.
- Provide pre‑ and post‑sales support on machine optimization.
- Troubleshoot performance, software integration, or application issues.
- Assist in developing product and sales materials.
- Train customers on machine operation, software usage, and best practices.
- Assist Product Manager in analyzing internal and external market information.
- Collaborate with Product Manager, Engineering, and Service to develop enhanced products.
- Stay current with industry trends and competitor technologies.
- Perform other tasks assigned by manager.
- Maintain product knowledge and professionalism to support sales and customers.
- Promote lean practices and eliminate waste.
- Hybrid work schedule available (must live within 6‑hour drive of Harrison, OH).
- Must travel 50%+ to corporate office, customer locations, and trade shows; must have valid driver’s license.
- Participate in trade associations.
- Create white papers for trade publications and marketing efforts.
- Minimum 2 years related experience in sales, marketing, or manufacturing.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred.
- Extensive technical knowledge of CI products.
- Experience with machine tool applications or engineering.
- Strong customer orientation.
- Proficient in MS Office and Google Workspace.
- Ability to deliver presentations to groups.
- Proficient in 2D CAD/CAM software (preferably Solid Edge).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self‑ownership and leadership of projects.
- Proficient in project management systems.
- Promote lean practices.
