Description
We are in search of an Assurance Senior to join our growing team. The Senior performs audit and attest tasks using a working knowledge of auditing procedures, GAAP, GASB, and applicable regulations. The Senior moves engagements forward on time and on budget, coordinating a broad range of accounting engagement tasks with minimal direct involvement of managers or partners. They conduct several client engagements simultaneously, maintaining contact with clients.

Hours:
half days on Friday (based on a minimum 40-hour work week) - Company investment: minimum 40 hours learning and development annually

- Assume full responsibility for directing engagements and special assignments.
- Direct fieldwork on audit engagements and oversee on‑job training of all staff.
- Prepare and review work papers and financial statements.
- Supervise staff accountants on engagements.
- Ensure assignments are completed within budgeted time; verify accuracy of work papers and adequacy of disclosures in financial statements.
- Track engagement progress and resolve accounting and auditing issues as they arise.
- Drive practice development by creating relationship opportunities with clients and prospects.
- Stay up to date on new accounting standards and guidance.
- Manage personal billable hour budget and training progression.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
- 2+ years of public accounting experience, primarily with state and local government clients.
- 150 credit hours required to obtain CPA license.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Master's Degree.
- CPA license.
- Working knowledge of GASB, GAAP, Yellow Book and other professional standards.
