Job Summary
The Book savers Associate will play a critical role in managing various aspects of incoming donations and day-to-day operations of the Book savers retail and internet operations. This position will be responsible for coordinating with the Book savers Team Leader daily to manage various aspects of the back room operations to include but not limited to managing inventory (sorting, pricing etc), attending regular meetings, recycling and bailing books and other related duties as assigned by manager.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, team player and a passion for fostering a positive work environment for employees and volunteers.
- Assist with the daily operations of Book savers retail and Internet operations, customer service and assistance with incoming donations.
- Process Internet orders including textbook processing. Answer email inquiries concerning Internet-related orders.
- Enter new listings online.
- May assist with shelving books in the Internet room.
- Assist with the recycling of books and baling operations.
- Fill in for the team leaders when absent.
- Support the mission of Gift & Thrift, Inc. Be a team player with other managers so each division can be successful in its own mission.
- Assist with other tasks as requested by the manager.
The Book savers Associate is expected to report to The Book savers Manager in the absence of the Book savers Team Leader. This position requires attention to detail, good communication skills in order to communicate effectively with donors, customers and co-workers verbally, as well as, written.
Other Duties and RequirementsThe regular schedule of work days is Monday through Friday and occasional Saturdays with a schedule agreed upon iable and satisfactory attendance is an essential function of this position. - Be able to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis
- Be able to work occasionally in un-air-conditioned and unheated spaces
- Be able to stand for the majority of shift
- Must be able to communicate (oral and written) using English
- Computer proficiency - ability to perform basic task and use of email
- Telephone communication skills are necessary
