General Information:The Office of the Registrar at James Madison University is accepting applications for an Office Assistant. The Office Assistant will serve a vital role with the Office of the Registrar on the Transfer Credit Team.
We are recruiting for one part-time wage position. The position will be a year-round part-time position working an average of 29 hours per week over the course of a calendar year. Part-time employees are not eligible for benefits.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Process college transcripts through the workflow process within our document management system.
- Provide customer service in person and through phone/email
- Enter data into People Soft Student Administration System while ensuring data integrity, confidentiality and accuracy.
- Work closely with students, faculty, staff and parents.
- Assist in updating the Transfer Credit Equivalency Guide using TES (Transfer Evaluation System).
- Perform moderately complex processes and exercise independent judgment with minimal supervision.
- Resolve problems independently, answer questions and interpret and apply policies and procedures.
- Resolve problems with a high standard for accuracy.
- Perform back-up duties for other staff as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
- Ability to handle and prioritize a large volume of work.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student record.
- Ability to work independently but seek advice and direction from supervisor as needed.
- Ability to serve constituents in personable and efficient manner.
Additional Considerations:
- Knowledge of university and office policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of People Soft Student Administration System
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
This is a part-time wage position working up to an average of 29 hours per week over the course of a calendar year with no benefits.
