Service Technician

Overview

Harrisonburg Hyundai is seeking a skilled Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain Hyundai vehicles. State Inspectors encouraged! This role ensures customer satisfaction and vehicle performance.

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tire rotations.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in Hyundai vehicles.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and provide recommendations for necessary repairs.
• Record all services and repairs performed on vehicles.
• Ensure customer vehicles are clean and ready for pick-up.
• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies.
• Test‑drive vehicles and test components using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems (engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.).
• Communicate with the Service Advisor to inform customers about additional needed services and estimate time for additional repairs.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

• Previous experience as an automotive technician, preferably with Hyundai vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, braking systems, etc.
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment and tools effectively.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Experience in a new vehicle franchise dealership and Virginia State Inspector preferred.
• Strong automotive background and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to submit to a drug screen & background check.
• Must have a clean & valid driver’s license.
