General Information:
James Madison University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as the Assistant Director for Faculty Qualifications and Planning to support academic excellence and institutional accreditation. This position is responsible for supporting the university's compliance with SACSCOC standards and policies, which includes reviewing and maintaining accurate faculty qualifications and teaching assignment records.
The Assistant Director for Faculty Qualifications and Planning also supports planning efforts by coordinating a senior data collection process called the Senior Compass. The position also serves as support and backup for the Associate Director of University Planning and Accreditation, assisting with projects and responsibilities in strategic planning and accreditation at the university level.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Manages the faculty credentialing process by documenting faculty qualifications and preparing faculty qualification determinations for courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels for accreditation reviews, reports, audits, and site visits.
* Collects, verifies, and maintains official transcripts and credential documentation for faculty in appropriate databases and tracking systems ensuring files are complete, accurate, and stored in compliance with university record‑retention and confidentiality requirements.
* Maintain faculty qualification databases and tracking systems and contribute to continuous improvement of credentialing and qualification review processes.
* Manage the senior data collection project by tracking enrollment and completion of modules. Track student completion of requirements, apply and remove holds for all graduating seniors. Ensure that components of the data collection process are maintained and accurate.
* Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders involved in the senior data collection process. Administer the Canvas course, collaborate with senior data collection working and reporting group, and communicate with advisors, instructional faculty, and students.
* Maintain an awareness of new and changing national, regional and institutional information requirements and trends related to university accreditation and strategic planning efforts.
