Job Summary:
As a Student Ambassador at Eastern Mennonite University (EMU), you will serve as a representative of the university's values, culture, and academic community. You will engage with prospective and current students, families, alumni, and guests, contributing to the university's outreach efforts and fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
This role offers a unique opportunity to share your personal EMU experiences, showcase the campus community, and contribute to recruitment and retention initiatives.
Schedule:
1-6 hr/week, varying schedule
Events:
Participate in approximately 3-4 admissions events per semester including open houses, orientations, and other campus activities to provide insights into the EMU experience
Meetings:
Attend a monthly meeting prior to admissions events to prepare for the event and build community with the other RAsDuties/Responsibilities:
Relationship Building:
Establish meaningful connections with diverse audiences, including prospective students, parents, alumni, and community members. Serve as a welcoming and approachable point of contact for questions and concerns.
Outreach and Recruitment:
Collaborate with the admissions team to support recruitment efforts, such as making phone calls, sending emails, and attending college fairs to share your EMU journey.
Feedback Collection:
Gather feedback from prospective and current students to contribute insights for enhancing the student experience and recruitment strategies.
Campus Ambassador:
Represent the university with enthusiasm, professionalism, and authenticity. Embody the university's values and contribute to creating a diverse and inclusive campus community.
Qualifications:
Current EMU undergraduate student with a strong passion for the university and its community.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable engaging with diverse audiences, both in person and through online platforms.
Ability to articulate the value of a liberal arts education and EMU's distinctive qualities.
Active involvement in campus life, clubs, organizations, or community service.
Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.
