Advanced assistant professors are also encouraged to apply. The Department of Management is an academic unit within the College of Business, comprising 22 full-time faculty members. The department has over 800 management majors in three concentrations (Management Consulting, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Human Resource Management), and the department supports the college by providing core business classes in Strategic Management, Interpersonal Skills, and Principles of Management.

Departmental faculty members closely collaborate with the Gilliam Center for Entrepreneurship. The department places primary emphasis on its undergraduate programs that include engaging classroom experiences, business case studies, hands-on projects, and laboratory exercises designed to prepare graduates to work independently and in team-oriented environments. In addition to their high involvement in undergraduate education, departmental faculty members play a vital role in delivering the Executive Leadership MBA, Innovation MBA, and Information Security MBA programs.

Outside the academic community, faculty members maintain strong connections with the business community in Shenandoah Valley, Northern Virginia, Richmond, and Washington, D.C., and interact regularly with members of the department's advisory board.

The primary teaching responsibilities will be teaching undergraduate courses in Organizational Behavior as well as a secondary area that supports one of our Management concentrations (HRM, Consulting, and Entrepreneurship). The successful candidate is expected to conduct high-quality research, as well as engage in academic and community service for the department, college, university, and the profession. The department fosters a collegial and collaborative team environment that supports student success and faculty development.

Applicants who are ABD will be considered with the requirement of degree in hand by December of 2027.
