The Department of Health Sciences in the College of Health and Behavioral Studies at James Madison University offers a dynamic Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences curriculum. The Health Sciences major is designed for students interested in understanding the causes of disease, strategies for promoting wellness and behavior change, and the scientific basis and methodologies for analyzing health concerns for both individuals and populations.

Upon degree completion, graduates are prepared for immediate employment in multiple allied health areas or a pathway to graduate studies in a variety of disciplines, including medicine, optometry, pharmacy, nursing, public health, and other professional preparation programs. The successful candidate will join a strong and engaged faculty at one of the nation’s outstanding public universities. • Teach multiple in‑person undergraduate Health Sciences courses within the general education curriculum, including large‑enrollment sections (160 students each) of HTH 100 Personal Wellness, a 3‑credit course option in the General Education – Well Being Area
• Teach undergraduate courses within the Health Sciences major curriculum, such as Introduction to Health Sciences and Population Health Determinants
