Physical requirements: This is sedentary and agile work requiring the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects.

Job Summary
:
To inspect and monitor Landfill for compliance with environmental regulations
Essential Job Functions
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all the following essential duties:
- Review all Landfill activities to ensure all regulatory requirements are being met regarding Stormwater, Erosion and Sediment Control, groundwater, gas collection, and stormwater management
- Perform various site compliance inspections and sample collections including daily leachate inspections and coordinate their repairs
- Oversee the Landfill’s various reports including discharge management reporting, odor management, and air reporting
- Prepare monthly reports and keep a spreadsheet on the status of all work
- Assist the Landfill’s consultant engineers with various projects
- Assist with updating of the Landfill permit/operations and maintenance manual
- Assist with plan review for Landfill projects
- Assist the Landfill Manager and perform related tasks as required
Knowledge
- Public relations and effective communication; general knowledge of principles and practices of Erosion & Sediment Control, Storm Water Management, and general construction practices
- Use of Internet
Skills
- Functional skills with personal computers to include the Microsoft suite of programs and Adobe Acrobat
- Effective time management
- Determine how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes
Abilities
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with government agencies, public officials, consultants, and citizens
- Communicate information clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing
Analyze and interpret complex information and develop detailed reports - Work independently
- Regular work attendance is required
