Plant Controller

We are looking for a Plant Controller to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

Our client seeks a hands‑on Plant Controller to lead all financial operations for a manufacturing site in Harrisonburg, VA. This role partners closely with Operations to drive cost visibility, improve margins, and strengthen controls. You’ll own plant P&L, standard costing, inventory accuracy, and forecasting, leveraging ERP systems to deliver timely, actionable insights.

• Own plant financials: monthly close, reporting, and analysis of P&L and balance sheet
• Lead cost accounting: standards, BOM/routing integrity, overhead rates, absorption, and PPV
• Drive variance analysis (labor, material, overhead, yield, scrap) and present insights to plant leadership
• Maintain robust internal controls over inventory, cycle counts, and production reporting
• Partner with Operations on CI/Lean initiatives, throughput, and margin improvement projects
• Manage forecasts, AOP, and rolling outlooks; track KPIs and operational drivers
• Ensure system accuracy and process discipline within ERP/SAP; champion data quality and automation
• Support capex business cases and post‑completion reviews
• Collaborate with corporate finance on accounting policy, SOX/compliance, and audit support

• Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA a plus)
• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience in manufacturing
• Strong cost accounting expertise (standards, inventory valuation, variances)
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems—SAP strongly preferred
• Proven business partnering with Plant/Operations leadership
• Advanced Excel and analytics; ability to simplify complex data for decision‑makers
