• Assists physical therapists in providing physical therapy treatments and procedures.
• Provides services under the direction of licensed physical therapist.
• Contributes to a physical therapist’s effectiveness by identifying patient care issues.
• Administers treatment programs for residents and patients.
• Documents patient care services according to approved medical documentation and facility documentation procedures.
• Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises and instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non‑manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily living activities.
• Helps patients in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
• Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens, giving normal growth and development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance.

• Current Physical Therapy Assistant state license.
• CPR certification.
• Graduate of an accredited therapy program.
• Works effectively to comply with policies of all VMRC areas and collaborates with team members to meet resident needs across the VMRC campus.
• Effectively works with other members of the VMRC team to provide in‑service’s and education to meet individual resident/patient needs according to standard, regulations, gaps in service delivery and initiatives.
