Live Hanger
The Live Hanger is responsible for hanging chickens on shackles on the production line while working as part of a team to support consistent product flow and production efficiency. This role helps ensure shackles remain full while following safety, sanitation, quality, and GMP standards.
The Live Hanger plays an important role in supporting Farmer Focus production operations by performing essential production line duties, communicating effectively with coworkers and supervisors, and contributing to a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Hang chickens on shackles on the production line.
- Keep shackles full of birds at all times to support consistent product flow.
- Work as part of a team to complete essential production line duties.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, leads, and supervisors.
- Follow all safety and sanitation standards, procedures, and regulations.
- Properly use all required safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
- Contribute to a clean and safe work environment.
- Support quality, safety, and GMP standards as needed.
- Remain flexible to changing duties, rotations, and product requirements.
- Perform other related responsibilities as needed to support Farmer Focus business objectives.
Compensation
Compensation Range: $22.75 / hr
Additional Compensation: $1.50/hr Shift differential
The posted compensation range for this role should reflect the minimum and maximum amount Farmer Focus in good faith expects to pay at the time of posting, based on factors such as internal equity, relevant experience, market data, and the budgeted amount available for the position.

Qualifications
- Ability to work in a poultry production environment.
- Ability to take direction and work with others as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, leads, and supervisors.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds consistently.
- Ability to perform repetitive work using hands and fine motor skills.
- Flexibility to changing duties, rotations, and product requirements.
- Ability to follow safety, sanitation, quality, and GMP standards.
- Ability to properly use required safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in poultry processing, food processing, manufacturing, production, or general labor.
- Experience working on a fast-paced production line.
- Familiarity with GMP standards, production safety requirements, and sanitation procedures.
New team members must be able to pass a drug, alcohol and background screening post-offer and prior to the start of their employment. The Immigration Reform and Control Act requires that verification of employment eligibility be documented for all new employees by the end of their third day of work.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel
Work is conducted primarily in a manufacturing and poultry production environment. This role requires access to the poultry production environment and involves working with live poultry and production line equipment. The team member must be able to tolerate varying heat, wet, and chill conditions within the plant. Hearing and eye protective equipment are required in the production area. Hair and beard nets are required in the production area.
Additional personal protective equipment may be required based on task, location, and safety requirements. This position requires standing for long periods, repetitive use of hands and fine motor skills, lifting up to 60 pounds consistently, working near production equipment, and performing fast-paced production line duties.
