Job SummarySentara RMH Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Medical Oncology unit. The unit is a 36‑bed medical‑surgical & telemetry unit with a subpopulation of oncology, chemotherapy, and end‑of‑life care. The team provides compassionate high‑quality care to a diverse patient population.

Associate's or Bachelor's Degree – Nursing (Required)

ResponsibilitiesThe Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. Responsibilities include the standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care – teaching and health promotion and evaluation) and professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, environmental health).
Transitionto Practice / Nurse Residency Program
10‑week TTP program focused on orientation and transition experience for practice in Medical‑Surgical areas. For new graduates, the TTP program is the start of a comprehensive 6‑month residency program to support the transition to practice.
Program Includes- Formal delivery of fundamental nursing concepts and standards with in‑person sessions utilizing case studies, gaming, simulation, and skills labs
- Exposure to Sentara policies and evidence‑based practice guidelines
- Hands‑on experience alongside a trained nurse preceptor
- Opportunity to share experiences and network with peers in a safe, protected environment
