Dialysis Nurse, RN Nurse
Position Summary
DaVita Kidney Care is expanding its Skilled Nursing Dialysis Services (DSD) at the Harrisonburg Health & Rehabilitation Center. The Registered Nurse DSD (DSD RN) will provide independent dialysis care to patients residing in the facility and coordinate with SNF staff to ensure timely treatment.
Primary Responsibilities- Take responsibility for the complete ongoing care of each patient to ensure dialysis treatment stays on track.
- Diagnose, plan, and implement patient care plans, including monitoring for complications and adjusting treatment as needed.
- Supervise dialysis technicians to meet capacity and efficiency goals.
- Educate patients and their families on dialysis procedures, self‑care, and health maintenance.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional resources and SNF staff to coordinate care.
- Participate in training and professional development programs.
Primary work schedule is three days a week (12+ hour shifts) with occasional Saturday work. No on‑call duty.
Required Qualifications- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Minimum 12 months of RN experience.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or a three‑year diploma from an accredited diploma program.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word and Outlook.
- Previous chronic hemodialysis, acute dialysis, and/or peritoneal dialysis (PD) experience.
- Training, teaching, or healthcare education background.
- Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN).
- Comprehensive paid training program combining classroom and hands‑on learning.
- Training may be conducted at a facility or a training clinic.
- Typical training hours: 32‑40 hours per week, varying during the training period.
