Registered Nurse (RN)
Eastern Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the day‑to‑day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. The RN will supervise in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations and will maintain the highest degree of quality care at all times.

- Provide direct nursing care to residents, including assessments, treatments and medication administration.
- Monitor residents’ conditions and report changes to physicians and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Develop, implement and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Accurately document nursing care, treatments and residents’ responses in medical records.
- Supervise and support Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) as needed.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians and staff.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
- Registered Nurse with required state licensure.
- One to three years of related experience; supervisory experience preferred.
- Current/active CPR certification.
- Ability to recognize residents’ needs such as ROM exercises, ambulation limits, etc.
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
- Basic to intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, internet and intranet navigation.
- Highest level of professionalism with ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and work well within a team environment.
- Customer service oriented and able to work well under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions.
- Ability to handle new tasks without written procedures.
- Approachable, flexible and adaptable to change.
- Can function independently and work effectively with employees and vendors.
- Moderate physical activity:
- Push, pull, move or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 3 feet and be able to push, pull, move or carry that weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
- Stand and/or walk for more than 4 hours per day.
- Bend and/or stoop for more than 1 hour at a time.
- Sit for more than 1 hour at a time.
- Write and/or do repetitive computer work with concentration on computer screen or documents for more than 2 hours at a time.
Work will be performed primarily indoors at one of our long‑term healthcare facilities, throughout all areas, including in resident rooms, on carpeted or tiled floors. Work will be performed around other co‑workers, healthcare staff, residents and guests. Due to the nature of the facility’s business workers may be exposed to occasional slippery floors, objects on floors, chemicals, sharp objects, hazardous materials and waste (including human), blood‑borne pathogens, communicable diseases, as well as high‑stress medical and/or life‑threatening situations.
