Golf Course Maintenance Worker

Are you looking for a part-time position in a friendly golf course environment while working on a variety of projects at the course? If so, consider applying for the City of Harrisonburg's Golf Course Maintenance Worker position!

The Golf Course Maintenance Worker position is part-time (no benefits) with a preferred hiring rate of $14.93 per hour. The ideal candidate for this position will have a desire to work outside and perform daily maintenance of the award-winning Heritage Oaks Golf Course and grounds. This position has work available each year from approximately March through December 1.

• Mowing, string trimming, and tree trimming;
• Performing light construction;
• Grooming and maintaining sand bunkers;
• Mowing the golf course, as needed, to specifications by operating and using hand and power mowing equipment;
• Changing cups on putting greens;
• Removing debris and manually excavating soil;
• Collecting trash;
• Preparing the golf course for daily play and tournaments;
• Loading and unloading supplies and landscape material.

• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the tenth grade. Experience must be in the performance of maintenance, custodial, and/or groundskeeping work.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at hire date, approximately 4 weeks after initial application date.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Availability to work from approximately March through December 1.
