The Refrigeration Operator uses their hands‑on knowledge of ammonia refrigeration and experience working with industrial refrigeration components to accomplish preventative and predictive maintenance tasks of the refrigeration department of the assigned facility. Assist with boiler and steam system maintenance.

• Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration equipment such as compressors, ammonia pumps, and condensing towers.
• Full understanding of the refrigeration cycle.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance and assigned work orders.
• Perform troubleshooting activities as necessary.
• Perform quality checks as required by position and/or product at assigned facility.
• Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies, procedures, and governing requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

This position will not have supervisory responsibility.

• High school or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in refrigeration, maintenance, or a similar skill set.
• RETA membership or ability to obtain Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO).
• Ammonia refrigeration (2‑stage system) experience.
• Ability to pass and maintain state High Pressure Steam Boiler License.
• Process Safety Management (PSM) understanding.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Fluent speaking, reading, and writing in English.
• Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) certification (preferred).
• Excellent mechanical aptitude with ability to handle multiple projects at one time.
