Plumber/Steamfitter Lead
James Madison University's Facilities Management is currently hiring for a Plumber/Steamfitter Lead. This position will perform master level technical tasks in plumbing, gas, fire sprinkler and steam fitting trades.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Servicing, maintaining, inspecting and repairing commercial and residential plumbing, steam, fire sprinkler, gas, food service, swimming pool, lawn sprinkler, heating, laboratory and other equipment as assigned
- Providing leadership, troubleshooting assistance and communication to plumber steamfitters while providing support to the supervisor
- Installing plumbing, steam or other equipment as assigned, this may include designing and/or specification elements
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with commercial, institutional and residential plumbing, heating, steam equipment, welding, soldering, backflow devices, pressure reducing valves, ACV's and plumbing code
- Must have master level plumbing/steamfitting skills as they apply to a wide variety of equipment
- Must possess a Backflow Prevention Device Worker Certification
- Must possess a Master Plumber License
- Ability to communicate effectively in a written and oral format
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to accommodate any necessary temporary shift demands and be available for the required rotating on call responsibilities
