Operates powered industrial trucks to fill customer orders, pushing, pulling, lifting, stacking, and moving products, equipment, or materials. Performs duties using gasoline, gas, or electric powered industrial trucks equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam, swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Operate trucks and lift apparatus by moving levers and pressing pedals.
- Store finished goods and complete inventory transactions on vehicle computer terminal.
- Position forks or lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, or boxes, and transport load to designated area.
- Pull finished goods for internal or external shipments.
- Load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting devices.
- Ensure vehicle is in good operating condition, complete daily safety check sheets, and notify supervisor of deficiencies.
- Record transactions using RF terminals per proper procedures.
- Abide by all safety rules and regulations.
- Complete annual updates of OSHA required training as assigned by supervisor.
- Report all safety malfunctions, near hits, and injuries to supervisor immediately.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS Education / Experience / Skills- Previous experience operating powered industrial lift vehicles in a warehouse environment preferred.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; compute rate, ratio, and percent; interpret bar graphs; perform basic computer functions.
Reasoning AbilityApply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions; address problems with concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations- Raymond pick‑up vehicle certification
- Forklift license (may be required)
- Often required to sit and use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Vision ability required includes close vision.
- Exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
