Cass Regional Medical Center is a critical access hospital located in Harrisonville, MO, offering comprehensive healthcare services to the community. The facility includes a 21-bed medical/surgical unit, a four-bed intensive care unit, a 10-bed behavioral health unit, and advanced diagnostic capabilities such as MRI, CT, PET-CT scans, and 3-D mammography. The medical center provides a range of services, including emergency care, specialized surgeries, and rehabilitation programs recognized nationwide for excellence in cardiac rehabilitation and diabetes education.

With specialists in nearly 20 areas available on campus and additional family medicine clinics in nearby communities, Cass Regional is dedicated to delivering quality and accessible healthcare to the region.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Infection Control Safety & Health Specialist based in Harrisonville, MO. In this role, the specialist will implement and oversee infection control and safety programs to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include monitoring and evaluating infection prevention practices, conducting regular safety audits, providing staff training on infection control protocols, staying updated on relevant health regulations, and collaborating with healthcare teams to address safety and health concerns promptly.

The specialist will also play a pivotal role in developing and revising policies based on best practices and regulatory guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Infection Control experience
  • In-depth knowledge of infection prevention and control practices, including experience with developing and implementing healthcare safety protocols and programs
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear, effective training and guidance to healthcare staff
  • Experience in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to address and resolve health and safety concerns efficiently
  • Proficiency in staying up to date on changes to infection control policies and guidelines
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting and familiarity with key regulatory standards such as CDC, OSHA, and Joint Commission guidelines is a plus
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, or related field;
    Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or willingness to obtain within two years of employment.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws regarding infection, safety (OSHA), and health regulations; basic knowledge of medical terms and diagnosis.
