Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

• Provide skilled support services to residents under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).
• Implement treatment plans designed by the OT to improve residents' abilities in activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, cognition, and psychosocial functioning.
• Assist with resident evaluations and contribute to documentation related to functional status and progress.
• Deliver direct therapy services in a compassionate, safe, and effective manner.
• Monitor residents' responses to interventions and promptly report changes or concerns to the OT.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and communicate relevant updates about residents.
• Educate residents and caregivers on therapeutic exercises and safety techniques to promote independence.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record system.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of adaptive equipment and assistive devices.
• Adhere to facility policies, CMS guidelines, and professional standards of practice.
• Uphold ethical and professional conduct in accordance with state licensure and certification requirements.
• Work within a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care setting as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team.
• Perform physical tasks including standing, lifting, and transferring residents as required.
