Earth Breeze is looking for two Associate Formulation Chemists to support product improvement and innovation across our formulations and processes. One will be based at our Harrodsburg, Kentucky, manufacturing center, and the other at our Albany, California, lab.
As an Associate Formulation Chemist (reporting to the Director of R&D), you’ll be responsible for developing new formula prototypes, running lab testing, and maintaining quality control to ensure our products stay consistent and reliable. You'll also play a key role in lab administration and cross-functional collaboration, helping keep operations running smoothly and product development on track.

- Develop new formula prototypes and run lab testing, under the direction of the Director of R&D, to support ongoing product innovation
- Coordinate off-site and 3rd party testing and participate in pilot plant trials to validate formulations at scale
- Maintain detailed records of experiments, stability testing, and analytical results to ensure accurate documentation and traceability
- Analyze and interpret test results to surface insights that drive product enhancement
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure consistency and reliability of products
- Perform routine quality checks on raw materials and finished products to catch issues before they reach production
- Oversee and manage lab equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration to keep testing accurate and on schedule
- Maintain laboratory safety protocols in accordance with county and state regulations
- Order and manage inventory of lab supplies and raw materials to keep testing on schedule
- Collaborate closely with the Product Development Team and cross-functional stakeholders, providing real-time updates on testing progress
- Partner with external partners and suppliers to stay current on industry trends and advancements

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE), mixtures experiments, and statistical approaches to formulating and developing chemical-based products
- 2+ years of formulation and product development experience in personal care, beauty, or home care products
- Familiarity with statistical analysis tools (e.g., JMP software for ANOVA, DOE, Process Control)
- Knowledge of Python or basic coding
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
