- Observe contractors' construction activities on assigned projects at various facilities.
- Monitor contractor and contractor personnel performance to ensure safety standards and industry best practices are followed. Recommend corrective actions when safety performance is unacceptable.
- Identify issues and concerns with contractor construction performance, investigate as needed, and recommend corrective actions. Engage management and engineering for additional support when necessary.
- Monitor contractor work for compliance with contract schedules, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Review and provide comments on design documents as required.
- Foster positive relationships with company personnel, customers, contractors, and engineering teams.
- Document daily contractor activities through written reports and photographs.
- Coordinate work between multiple contractors and operations personnel, advising management of potential issues and concerns.
- Ensure daily field observations are thorough and accurate.
- Coordinate compliance with company safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hot work, confined space entry, and other safety requirements.
- Coordinate interfaces between contractors and impacted departments regarding construction activities, including safety, site regulations, protection of company property, scheduling, material deliveries, progress reporting, and administrative support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all applicable policies, procedures, and standards.
Qualifications:
• Ten years of supervisory/project experience is preferred. Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Operational or QA/QC experience is preferable. Strong preference for certification in project management or other specialized training from an external institution and demonstrated advanced construction management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Advanced proficiency in OSHA and site safety standards.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with management, contractors, and their employees.
• Proficient in quality standards related to materials and equipment.
• Advanced knowledge of equipment erection and installation standards and methods.
• Competent in use of standard software packages. (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
