The assistant principal is responsible for assisting in the leadership that will insure an appropriate and quality education for all students in the school to which he/she is assigned. Carries out adopted policies of the Mercer County BOE and directives of the Superintendent of Schools. Assists as an evaluator to determine the strengths and weakness of the school program and school staff.

Assists in developing effective staffing procedures. Assists in providing for an ongoing review and evaluation of the schools curriculum and programs. Assists in developing and monitoring the school's improvement plan. Assists in involving staff in aligning the Kentucky Academic Standards and the Every Student Succeeds Act.
