Head Boys Basketball Coach at Mercer Co Sr. HS

The High School Boys Basketball Coach is responsible for leading, developing, and mentoring student-athletes both on and off the court. The coach will organize and supervise all aspects of the basketball program, promote academic success, model strong character, and build a competitive program that reflects the values and standards of the school.

Program Leadership

• Plan, organize, and conduct practices, games, and off-season workouts

• Develop game strategies and player development plans

• Teach fundamental skills, advanced techniques, and team concepts

• Establish and communicate team expectations and standards

Student-Athlete Development

• Promote academic achievement and monitor player eligibility

• Serve as a positive role model and mentor

• Encourage sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork

• Support student-athlete growth in leadership and character

Program Administration

• Coordinate schedules, travel, equipment, and uniforms

• Maintain compliance with state athletic association and school policies

• Communicate effectively with players, parents, staff, and administration

• Assist with fundraising and community engagement efforts

• Stipend based on district coaching salary schedule currently $12, season
