Labcorp is seeking a Sample Handling Assistant (Workflow Lead) to join our shipping and logistics team within our Sample Management department in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
Job Responsibilities- Organize meetings with the team to discuss workflow, pending issues and prioritize critical tasks.
- Direct and re‑direct team members to accommodate volume changes and client deadlines.
- Ensure all samples and materials are scheduled, stored, shipped or disposed per SOPs.
- Manage and alert management on non‑routine issues.
- Provide guidance and best practices for Sample Management and Archives Services.
- Offer input on SOPs and other QDMS documents as needed.
- Cover for management and peers in meetings, conference calls or on the bench when required.
- Act as a mentor, answering questions and providing training to the team.
- Demonstrate flexibility by performing additional duties such as assisting with SOP writing or serving as a subject‑matter expert.
- Assume a leadership role in the supervisor’s absence, including:
- Organizing assignments during the workday.
- Acting as support for both internal and external customers.
- BSc degree desirable; relevant experience may substitute for education.
- Demonstrable experience in the scientific industry or in a samples/archives position.
- Proficiency with software packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Pro‑active, problem‑solving ability; capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of GxP regulations is an advantage.
