Office Administrator/ Coordinator
As an administrative assistant for dental hygiene at LMU College of Dental Medicine, your role would involve a variety of tasks to support the smooth operation of the dental hygiene department.
Responsibilities- Provide direct administrative support to the Program Director and clinical faculty, including coordination of schedules, meetings, clinic operations, clinical support and day‑to‑day departmental needs.
- Assist primarily with appointment confirmations, clinic scheduling logistics, faculty calendars, meetings, and coordination of clinical course schedules under the direction of program leadership.
- Support students with general administrative needs such as forms, documentation, registration processes, and maintaining student‑related records.
- Assist with phone calls, emails, front‑desk operations, and responding to general departmental inquiries from prospective students, patients, and the public.
- Maintain organized departmental files, assist with admissions and graduation paperwork, and support accreditation, compliance, and licensure documentation requirements.
- Assist with planning and coordination of program‑related meetings, workshops, community outreach activities, and special events.
- Utilize office software, scheduling systems, student management platforms, and clinical software to support departmental operations efficiently.
- Assist with inventory tracking, data entry, special projects, and additional operational tasks as assigned to support the overall function of the Dental Hygiene Program.
This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, discretion with confidential information, and the ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and external contacts. Experience or familiarity with dental terminology and procedures would also be beneficial in understanding the context of the department’s activities.
