Interim Assistant Principal - Ellen Myers Primary School

Interim K-4 Assistant Principal is needed to help lead our elementary school team.

This is a temporary position in a Tennessee public school. You will help manage daily school operations. You will also support teachers, students, and families.

• Manage daily student arrival and dismissal routines.
• Maintain a safe, positive school environment.
• Enforce the school student code of conduct.
• Handle student discipline issues fairly.
• Supervise common areas like the cafeteria and playground.

• Observe teachers and give helpful feedback.
• Use the Tennessee Educator Acceleration Model (TEAM) for evaluations.
• Help analyze student test data to improve learning.
• Support data-driven instruction in K-4 classrooms.
• Participate in student support meetings like IEPs and 504 plans.

• Communicates clearly with parents and guardians.
• Resolve family concerns with empathy and respect.
• Collaborate closely with the Principal and school staff.

• Valid Tennessee Instructional Leadership License
• Master's degree or higher in Educational Leadership.

• Knowledge of Tennessee academic standards for grades K-4.
• Experience with the TEAM evaluation model.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly.
• High level of emotional intelligence and problem-solving skills.
