Deputy Nursery Manager – Montessori Nursery (Rayners Lane, HA2)
Salary: £30,000 – £33,000 per year + Benefits
Hours:
Full‑time (40 hrs/week – rotating shifts between 8am–6pm)
Option for 4 full days + 1 half day per week

We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to support the daily running of the nursery in Rayners Lane (HA2). This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious childcare professional looking to take the next step in their career and develop within a supportive and progressive setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the Nursery Manager in ensuring the nursery runs smoothly and efficiently on a daily basis
- Lead, mentor, and motivate staff to deliver the highest standards of care and education
- Ensure compliance with EYFS, safeguarding, health & safety, and nursery policies
- Oversee staff deployment to maintain correct ratios across all rooms
- Provide a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment that supports children’s development in line with Montessori principles and EYFS
- Conduct regular observations and assessments, maintaining accurate child records
- Develop positive, professional relationships with parents and carers, encouraging their involvement
- Mentor Room Leaders, contribute to staff performance reviews and appraisals
- Ensure engaging displays and learning environments across the nursery
- Take responsibility for the nursery in the absence of the Manager
- Support with training, parent events, and monitoring high‑quality practice
- Minimum CACHE / NVQ Level 3 in Childcare & Education (Level 4/5 desirable)
- Previous leadership or deputy management experience in a nursery setting
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding requirements
- Excellent team leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to inspire, mentor, and be a positive role model to the team
- Strong ICT and written skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records
