Senior Accountant

Our client, a well-established organization in the distribution industry, is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support core accounting functions and financial close activities. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting operational accounting needs, and ensuring compliance with GAAP in a fast-paced distribution environment.

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain supporting schedules
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
• Support month-end and year-end close processes in accordance with established timelines
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with GAAP
• Partner with operations, inventory, and supply chain teams on accounting matters
• Support inventory accounting, including reconciliations, adjustments, and reserve analysis
• Assist with internal and external audit requests by preparing documentation and schedules
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency
• Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested
• Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Prior experience within distribution, manufacturing, or logistics environments preferred
• Strong general ledger, reconciliation, and month-end close experience
• Solid understanding of GAAP
• Experience working with ERP systems
• Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment
