The Staff Accountant position at Connecticut Lighting Centers in Hartford, CT, involves supporting daily and monthly accounting operations, including month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities- Assisting with month-end close, including accruals, adjustments, and reconciliations.
- Preparing and posting journal entries and maintaining general ledger accuracy.
- Supporting the preparation of basic financial statements and internal reporting.
- Performing bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintaining organized accounting files, supporting schedules, and audit trails.
- 2-3 years of accounting experience, including month-end and journal entry work.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliation.
- Proficiency with Excel and other accounting tools, ERP experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
