Description
Capital Workforce Partners is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Junior Accountant to support our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional who wants to grow their skills while contributing to impactful, community-focused work.
What You’ll Do Accounting & Financial Operations- Process and code vendor invoices in accordance with organizational and grant requirements
- Maintain accounts payable records and ensure timely payments
- Reconcile corporate credit card statements and monthly bank accounts
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Support management of Service Provider (SP) and Individual Training Account (ITA) budgets
- Ensure accurate coding across funding sources and cost centers
- Maintain budget documentation and internal tracking
- Process biweekly payroll based on approved HR data
- Ensure accuracy of wages, deductions, and benefits
- Maintain payroll records in compliance with internal controls and audit standards
- Generate routine financial reports
- Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, allocations, adjustments)
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and annual audit processes
- Assist with documentation for internal and external reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (Associate degree + relevant experience considered)
- 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Experience in accounts payable or general ledger functions
Familiarity with accounting systems (MIP Fund Accounting a plus) - Exposure to payroll processing preferred
- Nonprofit or grant-funded experience is a plus
- Foundational understanding of GAAP principles
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving ability
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Proficiency with financial systems and reporting tools
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- High level of integrity and confidentiality

Physical Requirements
