Overview
Position Title:Client Support Contractor, Care at Home by JFS
Position Type:1099 Contractor
Reports to:Director of Care at Home by JFS
Schedule:8:00-4:30pm, Mon, Tues, Wed, including time for lunch
Location:West Hartford, Connecticut
Pay Range:$30–$32 per hour, based on experience, flexibility, and field coverage requirements
Duration:3 months, with potential for extension based on program needs
Position Summary
The Client Support Contractor assists with scheduling, urgent shift coverage, home visits, phone coverage, and general administrative support to maintain high-quality, responsive nonmedical home care services. This role is fast-paced and highly collaborative, requiring flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to respond quickly to urgent staffing and client needs.
ResponsibilitiesReporting Structure
The Client Support Contractor receives direction from and reports to the Director of Care at Home by JFS. They will work closely with all members of the team, including Care Coordinators, Scheduling Staff, Caregivers, Clients.
Key Responsibilities
The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:
Scheduling & Staffing Support
- Assist with daily caregiver scheduling and schedule adjustments
- Fill in for urgent or last-minute shifts that have not been accepted by caregivers, as directed
- Monitor shifts start times to ensure client coverage
- Monitor open shifts and assist with outreach to caregivers to ensure coverage
- Support continuity of care during call-outs, emergencies, or schedule changes
Client & Caregiver Support
- Answer incoming phone calls and route inquiries appropriately
- Respond to basic client and caregiver questions or concerns
- Provide real-time support/training to caregivers in the field, escalating issues as needed
Home Visits & Field Support
- Conduct non-medical home visits or check-ins as assigned
- Support start-of-care visits, caregiver introductions, or coverage transitions
- Observe and report non-clinical safety or service concerns to leadership
Administrative & Operational Support
- Assist with documentation, scheduling notes, and system updates
- Support intake, confirmations, and follow-up communications
- Perform additional administrative or operational tasks as assigned
Additional/other duties or job functions may be required as deemed necessary by Care at Home.

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate's degree preferred)
- Prior experience in home care, healthcare support, scheduling, or administrative roles preferred
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn scheduling systems/databases
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with home care scheduling systems (e.g., Well Sky)
- Knowledge of non-medical home care operations
- Availability for flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Must possess, be able to obtain before the start date, a valid and appropriate stated driver’s license, registration, along with access to a reliable car, with proof of insurance.
