PositionSummary
Facility Workers are responsible for ensuring set‑up and tear‑down for events are completed according to specifications in a safe and timely manner. They also perform basic maintenance and upkeep of both the building and property. Facility Workers must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some combination of skills and abilities.
This role pays an hourly rate of $17.56‑$19.11 (per CBA).
Benefits are as per the union agreement.
This position will remain open until August 28, 2026.
About The VenuePeoples Bank Arena is Connecticut’s premier destination for sports & entertainment. The 15,000+ seat downtown arena is home to the eleventh‑time national champion UConn Women’s Basketball team and the six‑time national champion UConn Men’s Basketball team. It also hosts Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL, the primary developmental affiliate of the New York Rangers. Peoples Bank Arena entertains millions of visitors annually with concerts, family shows, ice‑skating spectaculars, consumer events, and trade shows.
The venue has hosted world‑renowned artists such as Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Pearl Jam, Black Eyed Peas, Britney Spears, Drake, and many others.
- Arrives for work on time for each scheduled shift, in uniform and ready to work.
- Safely and efficiently operates hand tools.
- Performs set‑up and tear‑down duties.
- Performs daily operations and general building maintenance during non‑event days.
- Performs general landscaping of the property.
- Works safely, quickly, and efficiently to meet all deadlines.
- Maintains a positive, outgoing demeanor.
- Works independently and in a team environment.
- Completes all other tasks assigned by Supervisor.
- Prior conversion or event experience preferred.
- Prior landscaping or snow removal experience preferred.
- OSHA 10 preferred.
- Prior forklift training preferred.
- Must be able to work overnight hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects on a frequent basis.
