Senior Manager, Finance & Administration

ReadyCT is looking for an organized, operationally savvy professional who enjoys building the systems that make a mission possible. By managing critical financial, administrative, and compliance structures of our youth-serving initiatives, you’ll ensure things run smoothly behind the scenes so that every student can focus on a seamless, high-quality launch into the professional world.

Location: 350 Church Street, 10th Floor, Hartford, CT 06103

Salary Range: $80,000–$95,000k (commensurate with experience)

ABOUT

THE ROLE

This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys being the organizational “hub” — keeping programs on track, supporting compliance and financial processes, and helping teams work efficiently. You’ll play a key role in supporting high school internship programs, coordinating org-wide operational details, and maintaining the systems that help ReadyCT create efficiencies to advance the work!

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO

THE ROLE
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in public administration, nonprofit management, finance, or a related field;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience building program budgets in a nonprofit environment and tracking expenses to support grant requirements.
  • Preferred experience in nonprofits or organizations with heavy braided/blended grant‑funded structures, including state and federal funding.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and precision. Comfort managing multiple projects, timelines, and administrative processes, including payroll, employee onboarding, and reporting to funders/partners.
  • Enjoys working with colleagues and external partners to keep programs running smoothly.
  • Ability to explain financial or compliance information in a clear, practical way to an audience with a non‑finance background.
  • Curious, adaptable, and open to learning and taking on new responsibilities.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of this role as described in the Essential Functions section below.
WHAT YOU’LL DO Financial Monitoring & Budget Tracking
  • Develop and update program budgets.
  • Track expenses and facilitate discussions with program leads to help ensure spending stays aligned with program budgets and grant requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with federal and state program requirements.
  • Prepare clear, regular financial updates for internal teams and leadership, and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Manage salary allocation process as part of budget management responsibilities, including biweekly timesheet delivery to accounting contractor.
  • Working with an accounting contractor, prepare and submit required financial reports to funders.
  • Provide general operational and financial support to keep the organization running smoothly.
Program & Compliance Oversight
  • Manage the youth internship onboarding and offboarding processes throughout the year, working closely with the respective program teams.
  • Coordinate payroll, reimbursements, and reporting related to youth employment programs.
  • Monitor compliance with federal and state program requirements, as detailed in contracts and grant agreements.
  • Serve as a point of contact for program documentation and compliance support.
  • Coordinate contractors, seasonal staff, and internal resources as needed, to ensure programmatic and operational success.
