A leading employee-owned (ESOP) General Contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to oversee K-12 school construction projects throughout Hartford, Connecticut. The company specializes in commercial, institutional, and educational construction and is committed to delivering high-quality projects through collaboration, innovation, and strong client partnerships.
Position SummaryThe Project Manager will be responsible for managing all phases of K-12 school construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This individual will play a key leadership role in ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of K-12 construction projects including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and project execution
- Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Monitor project schedules, costs, and performance metrics to ensure successful delivery
- Review and manage contracts, change orders, submittals, RFIs, and project documentation
- Lead project meetings and provide clear communication to all stakeholders
- Collaborate with field operations to maintain safety and quality standards
- Identify and resolve project risks and challenges proactively
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
- 10+ years of project management experience in commercial construction
- Experience managing K-12, educational, municipal, or institutional projects preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, scheduling, budgeting, and project controls
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam
