Alpha Hire is recruiting on behalf of an established electrical contractor seeking a Project Manager with hands‑on knowledge of commercial electrical construction. The ideal candidate has experience working directly for an electrical contractor or subcontractor and is comfortable managing multiple projects while maintaining accountability for financial and operational performance.

Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple commercial and industrial electrical projects from contract award through final completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, labor forecasts, procurement plans, and cost projections.
  • Coordinate field operations with superintendents, foremen, electricians, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Serve as the primary project contact for owners, general contractors, engineers, architects, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project documentation.
  • Monitor project costs, labor productivity, forecasts, billing, and overall profitability.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling, procurement, budget, and field issues before they impact project performance.
  • Lead project meetings and provide clear updates regarding schedules, milestones, costs, risks, and outstanding items.
  • Coordinate material purchasing, equipment deliveries, subcontractor scheduling, and project logistics.
  • Prepare, price, track, and manage change orders, ensuring additional work is properly documented and approved.
  • Support inspections, testing, commissioning, punch‑list completion, and final project turnover.
  • Ensure electrical installations comply with applicable codes, project specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, general contractors, vendors, and project partners.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of project management experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction.
  • Previous experience working for an electrical contractor or electrical subcontractor is required.
  • Valid Connecticut E-1 or E-2 Electrical License required.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, installation methods, construction sequencing, and industry practices.
  • Proven ability to manage electrical projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
  • Strong experience with project budgeting, forecasting, cost control, procurement, change orders, and labor management.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast‑paced construction environment.
  • Candidates who are available to start within the next month are preferred.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary of $100,000–$110,000, based on experience.
  • 401(k) with company contribution.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.
  • Stable and collaborative work environment.
  • Long‑term career growth and advancement opportunities.
  • Opportunity to lead a diverse range of commercial and industrial electrical projects.
